Chinese Junk trip

I just love to be out on the water and yesterday I was luckily invited out on a junk trip.
For those that don’t know, a Junk is a Chinese wooden vessel. It is used for fishing and is unusual in that it has a flat square stern. Today modern junks are built using fibreglass as the teak is very expensive and expensive to maintain. I lived on a purpose built live aboard Chinese junk for 9 very happy years. Here she is ‘Fat Albert”

Yesterday’s outing was on a beautiful wooden day junk. Several friends brought food, wine and good humour aboard and the sun shone and the water glistened.it was a perfect day out.
